The New York Knicks are on a hot streak at the moment and the vibe in the Big Apple is electric. On Thursday (April 22), Los Angeles Lakers star player Lebron James offered a reason why the Knicks are doing so well.
“Ain’t no denying DIPSET,” James wrote in a retweet of the epic Dipset freestyle used for the rollout of the group’s KITH collaboration last year. “And the league is simply better off when the Knicks are winning.”
In December, Cam’ron, Jim Jones and Juelz Santana teamed with KITH for their collaboration with Nike and the New York Knicks that included sweatsuits, t-shirts, a jersey and more. The group headed to Madison Square Garden to deliver a stellar freestyle from the middle of the arena and the video became a viral moment helping the collaboration sell out in minutes.
A fan on Twitter initially posted the freestyle video saying the Knicks turned things around after Dipset dropped the teaser. The tweet made its rounds and eventually caught Lebron James’ attention.
The Knicks have shown improvement all season with an uptick in 2021. They are currently in fourth place in the Eastern Conference and are on an eight-game win streak with 12 games left in the season.
LeBron James is one of the most outspoken athletes on social media and he never holds his tongue when it comes to an important issue. On Tuesday night (April 21), King James had to delete a tweet in reaction to the shooting of Ma’Khia Bryant.
The deleted tweet featured a photo of Nicholas Reardon, who is the police officer who shot and killed the 16-year-old while responding to her 911 call.
“YOU’RE NEXT #ACCOUNTABILITY,” James tweeted with an hourglass emoji.
Conservatives criticized James for the tweet and a day later he explained he deleted it because it was being used for more hate.
“ANGER does any of us any good and that includes myself,” he tweeted. “Gathering all the facts and educating does though! My anger still is here for what happened that lil girl. My sympathy for her family and may justice prevail!”
James continued, “I’m so damn tired of seeing Black people killed by police. I took the tweet down because its being used to create more hate -This isn’t about one officer. it’s about the entire system and they always use our words to create more racism. I am so desperate for more ACCOUNTABILITY.”
Did he tweet about that poor 7 year old girl shot and murdered because her father pissed on a mans grave? No he did not did he? I bet he listens to all those gink novs and lil kurds kinds of shits
Lebron really messed up by bringing extreme left ideology into the game. Sports are the only break we get from the biased media and politicians
