Killer Mike: “Rihanna Is The New Tupac”

When asked if Kanye West is the greatest rock star in the world, Killer Mike brought up two other artists.

“Kanye is amazing and may be the greatest rock star in the world but Rihanna is the new Tupac (in feminist form),” the Atlanta rapper says during an interview with The Guardian, “and as much as I love rock, ain’t nobody do it like ‘Pac. Ri-Ri rules in my book.”

Killer Mike and Run The Jewels partner El-P were being interviewed for the publication by Banksy in advance of their performance at his pop-up theme park.

Elsewhere in the interview, Killer Mike says he enjoys earning acclaim, but that that feeling can be trumped.

“I cannot lie, as good as it feels to get my deserved props,” he says, “the best part of reading social media after I meet folks is reading, ‘Mike was a nice guy.’ I believe being honorable lasts longer than rapping good.”

    1. Dont think i ever disagreed with Killer Mike… Wont start today. Rihanna keeps my head up and she can get this thug passion if she hits me up – AtPerin

    2. who cares what this irrelevant nigga and house nigga to that white guy el-piss thinks. drake is the new tupac not this bitch who got beaten up by that feminine nigga bhris brown

      1. Gucci Mane is the biggest rockstar of all time and the true successor to Tupac’s legacy.

        It’s Gucci time!!!

    3. Tupac is lucky because drake wasn’t rapping in the 90’s. If Tupac ever went at drake like he did Biggie Tupac would not have had a career. Drake would have bodied the fake thug balerrina. Drake made rap popular with out drake rap would have died. Pop rappers like Kanye and fake hipsters like kendrick would ruin rap.

      1. Drake wouldn’t survived in the 90s. He would have been laughed off and Pac would tear him apart. Without Drake, rap would keep going. Kanye is no pop rapper and Kendrick isn’t a fake or hipster. They’re the ones keeping rap going.

      2. Drake would be respected as an R&B artist with hiphop influences. And 2pac didn’t survive in the 90’s. He got outed like the bitch he was and gunned down.

      3. To be fair though, some others were right about one thing. Hiphop did start before drake with birdman. Even Dr Dre was dope in his death row years.

      4. Nope. Drake would have been laughed off as a pop artist. Pac did survive in the 90s since he was successful. He was never outed and he wasn’t a bitch. Biggie got gunned down, too, and so did a bunch of other rappers.

      5. Not necessairly since pac was a pop artist and yet people like him. Even people who would have seen drake as pop would have respected him. Biggie went out like a boss though while 2pac went out like a whimpering bitch.

      6. Damn ur a fuvkin moron for sayin some dumb shit like tht i could tell u dont real hip hop n legends from your moms twat or elbows. Kill yoself homo ass under 21 yr olds study ur history n pay homage drake may be the most popular now but real rap fans know hell never make a serious top 10 goat list. He doesnt write all his own shit so please shut the fuck and go listen to marvins room.

      7. Pac was never a pop artist, he’s always hip-hop and the same thing applies to Dr Dre, who was also never pop. Pac is respected for speaking real shit. Drake would have never been respected in the 90s. And there is no difference between Biggie and Pac’s deaths. They both died in drive-by shooting. No one dies like a boss or bitch because at the end of the day, they’re both dead.

      8. Let’s look at their discographys then. Biggie actually made dope hiphop music while pac made poser shit like california love.

      9. Either way, pop artists were respected in the 90’s (with some being shit) so drake, no matter if his real fans call him hiphop/R&B or if others call him pop, he would be respected.

      10. No, pop artists weren’t respected in the 90s, so pop ass Drake would still be laughed off if he was in the 90s.

      11. Once rumors started that drake may leave cash money, investors feared for their money since drake makes up much of the world economy and him leaving would drag not only his profits but the whole economy with it.

      12. Even you don’t believe those lies. Making over-exaggerated statements with no proof doesn’t help you. Come back to the real world.

      13. Man u absolutely fuccn stupid!!! Wacc azz drake wouldnt give pac no compition at all. Its hella artist out thats way……..better then drake gay azz.

      14. Dan, you are a clown i’ve been looking for to kiss my ass only to find a tattoo of your lips between my balls and dick. Drake runs your anus.

    4. I it depends what they mean by rock star, a below said gucci he was prob joking, in terms of most drugged up rapper it’s him or maybe 07 ill Wayne, by world famous Jay z beats kanye even if kanye makes music for the “new generation” or whatever, kanye has had longevity but his sound always changes for the worse, kanye was a breath of fresh air with his first probably 4 albums, then the whole I’m the shit was so far from his sound, he’s pop on some records. Rianna as tupac, ridiculous, the closest to a new Pac is Kendrick, Pac was not a thug he propelled the soul/thug life/conscios music about real life shit, closest must be Kendrick, but there is no one close tupac was too original

    5. I’m so sick and tired of these old heads complaining about present hip hop and bringing up the past. Move the fuck along its 2015 not 1995. Stop. Wearing baggy clothes and bananas are lame. Listening to old bums and not paying attention to modern music is lame. You hipster nerds are a bunch of loser outcasts that need to grow up. Adapt with the times.

      1. Drake runs rap, stop being a skinny jean wearing fruitcake follower and be yourself. And stop wasting your time cheerleading for somebody that doesn’t give a shit about you. Get mental help if you need it.

    6. Respect to the Mike Killer for his social activism an lyrical content… How do people claim they love hip hop but hate on the pioneers of it? Real heads unite peace

    7. How the fuck did the comments become about drake? Lol this dude said Rihanna is like tupac! What does that even fucking mean?

      1. it means she’s playing by her own rules and don’t gaf what you think. but y’all like to troll comment sections distracting the conversation it’s no wonder y’all don’t know wtf is going on.

    8. Wasn’t this an interview conducted by Banksy? I’m pretty sure Mike’s comments weren’t meant to be taken seriously if so. If you look at the whole interview, both the questions and answers seems to be pretty playful….

    9. The next and only female or male new pac is snoop dog .. Eminem 50 cent rihanna is not a gangster rapper she doesn’t even rap she sings so how can rihanna be the next new PAC she can’t same with Nicki minaj Lil Wayne drake the next new PAC is eminem snoop jay-z nwa that’s it kanye don’t say I can be the next PAC no u can’t u fell off bye bye

    10. I wouldn’t mind if Drake hits number 1 spot on hip hop charts then followed by Nae Nae number 2. Americans have low IQs. That’s why they fight for colors. Assumptions are objective in America. They’re fanatics of beliefs. Drake sing about Money, Hoes and Riches you think one day you’ll live inside a boat. You’ll always try to keep up with the Kardashians and when that don’t happen you’ll say life is hard you deserve to die. Sometimes others commit suicide by jumping into crips/bloodz gang beliefs. Fuck you I believe in myself and nothing else. I serve no one. I AM FREE!

      1. Those artist you mentioned were hot at a point but theyre not pac cmon son

Theres only 1 pac and these new artist need to stop mentioning pac comparings
        it BS

    11. In what world is she like Tupac? I love Riri but she’s not really a songwriter of note, her music gets people on the dance floor but nothing else. The entire comment don’t make no sense. Kanye is the biggest rockstar of absolutely nowhere.

    12. Been a fan of bigga for a long time but don’t go comparing that demonic witch to makaveli*you just lost one mike*long live the 80s & 90s*
