Kendrick Lamar Performs “The Recipe,” “Swimming Pools (Drank)” At 2012 BET Hip-Hop Awards

Kendrick Lamar made his grand entrance at the 2012 BET Hip-Hop Awards, performing a few cuts from his oeuvre.

During the performance, K. Dot ran through his new single “The Recipe” featuring Dr. Dre, though the Good Doctor was nowhere to be found. Wearing a black handkerchief-patterned shirt, the West Coast rapper ripped through the song on his own, transitioning into his latest single “Swimming Pools (Drank).”

The Compton, California native is currently prepping the release of his upcoming debut good kid, m.A.A.d city, releasing October 22nd.

    1. That Swimming Pools performance redeemed his horrible Swimming Pools performance on Late Night w/ Jimmy Fallon and The Roots.

    2. wish he was better live
      practice calming down k dot
u just don’t sound like u do on the records ever
it really shows when your chorus hook plays your record voice and u can’t match it
i hate when they play the chorus off a track
stop singing on your records when you can’t do it live
he’s coming to my town soon but i don’t feel like i need to see it after these lousy performances
