Plaboi Carti‘s new album Music is finally here — and it features a guest verse from Kendrick Lamar that appears to address the messy aftermath of his beef with Drake.
Adopting some of Carti’s distinct vocal quirks, the Compton native spits a playful yet braggadocious verse on “Good Credit” which includes a curious mention of “conspiracy theories.”
“The numbers is nothing, the money is nothing, I really been him, I promise / Say Kenny been heavy out West and I carry the weight, n-gga, I’m Luka Dončić / Conspiracy theories is a given, but I must admit it, you got the wrong person,” he raps.
The lyrics appear to reference Drake’s bombshell lawsuit against Universal Music Group, which accuses the music giant of conspiring with Kendrick’s longtime label Interscope, Spotify and other companies to artificially inflate the popularity of his hit diss song “Not Like Us.”
The complaint, which was filed in January, claims UMG used streaming bots, payola and other illegal tactics to turn the blistering track into a global smash in an attempt to harm Drake’s reputation and reduce his leverage when renegotiating his contract.
Kendrick himself is not named as a defendant and has yet to formally address the allegations, although he did previously reference the lawsuit during his Super Bowl halftime show last month.
Dot’s verse on “Good Credit” also contains a possible nod to Drake’s 2016 hit “Fake Love” (“The hate get realer, the love get fake / But when you this great, that’s how you should like it”), as well as a less subliminal reference to A$AP Rocky‘s shooting accuser A$AP Relli.
“Eliantte chain go big, white gold link fall on the belly / The emerald cuff for hers and his, that bitch on point like A$AP Relli,” he raps.
Music landed on streaming services on Friday morning (March 14), several hours after its scheduled midnight release.
Explaining the delay, Playboi Carti messaged Kai Cenat saying: “If it wasn’t for the samples and clearances it would [have] been out at 12 east but we good err thing cleared it should be out in any sec.”
Kendrick Lamar also appears on “Backd00r” and “Mojo Jojo,” while the 30-track album boasts further guest spots from Future, Travis Scott, Young Thug, Lil Uzi Vert, The Weeknd, Skepta and Ty Dolla $ign.
The project, which was first announced in 2023 and has been one of Hip Hop’s most anticipated releases of the last few years, serves as Carti’s first full-length offering since 2020’s Whole Lotta Red.

Still vague. At least Nas was direct back in the day this why I mess with the guys like Carti they just make vibes not trying to push a message just the sound
Same. That’s why I listen to h*itler speeches on Soul Sample beats.
Weirdo talking about Drake running to ATL for a check…. what’s this? Why is the savior of hiphop on an album with a bunch of mumble rappers that promote negativity to the black community? Not to mention the hypocrisy of a religious man making songs with a Satan worshipping deadbeat Dad.
@EdGeLord Kendrick a black American rapper did a song with another black American rapper. Drake a geek from Canada who was a deadbeat dad til pusha T, used Atlanta to seem hood enough to sell your goofy ass a record and you call him the boy/goat 😭😭😭😭
And what’s Kenny doing? Bro is fake virtue signaling not speaking facts he also pretending to be hood bro not bout that life just a theater kid pushing Mexicans and married to mexican looking girl. Only dates lightskins. He covered for Eminem and Dre who are guilty of what he’s called out Drake and Schultz for. His label founder is an abuser too then he sells his soul doing music for Disney Marvel and now working with Paramount, Converse/Nike, and other brands run by whites just on the side that’s paying him.
Kendrick attacked Drake for being a deadbeat but says nothing here then again he’s quiet with abuser and deadbeat Dr Dre and Eminem who attacks black people
This generation has to be on hard drugs all the time to listen to these new rappers. Got to be.
Shut up gramps it’s about the vibe but you boomers don’t get it go listen to garbage Eminem. Funny it’s OK when he attacks older rappers but never attack your gen somehow it’s better? Carti is doing his thing it’s about the vibe
The vibes. This shit is incoherent. Like I said, keep doing those hard drugs. Must make it sound normal when you’re on them.
Kendrick just want attention. Carti should have had Ye on the album he helped produce it! My guess Interscope/UMG stepped in.
3 Kenny verses for a a dead beat dad that knocked up white colonizer Iggy Azalea? K Bots, what’s going on? What happened to his morals.
A man is in charge for who another man sticks his penis inside of now?
What?! You call idiots are completely hypocrite gaslighters so fake. He doesn’t practice what he preaches. It’s typical of these wannabe hood black types he looks like those dorks.
Dusthead music.
Notice Kenny only shout out white NBA players John Stockton and now Luka
WTF is up with the comment section??? This shit is trippin
First Apple Music Superbowl, then Fortnite, now Carti collabs not a good look Ken almost forgot making music for Captain Falcon and a movie for Paramount by the South Park creators.
He might be throwing shade at Joey Badass. He should diss the old heads now that would be great 👌
