One of the highlights of the program came when Palmer poked fun at her recent family issues in a quick skit.

The premise of the segment was that Palmer was taking a phone call from her mother while the show was taping. The audience heard the voice of Palmer’s mother complaining that she had to watch the actress’ infant son while the show was going on.

The mother got angrier and angrier about Keke’s absence until she shouted: “I done raised my damn kids!” and Keke turned to the camera, embarrassed.

You can see the skit below.

The segment nods to some recent headlines about Keke Palmer, her son, her mother, and the boy’s father, who is Keke’s ex Darius Jackson.

Earlier this month, Palmer was granted a restraining order against Jackson amid accusations of abuse. The Nope star also received sole custody of their child.

Palmer’s mother Sharon was caught in the drama when she responded to an Instagram post from Jackson’s brother, which said an unnamed person was: “The most disgusting, vile, abusive, manipulative person I have ever EVER encountered in my entire life.”

“Just send positive energy to the babies,” Sarunas Jackson continued. “Any child in the middle of something like this does not deserve it AT ALL. Wow. So damn sad.”

“And i saw you from day one, my daughter is kind and our family treated you with kindness and this is how you treat it. i won’t take this laying down anymore IM DONE.”
