Kanye West Thanks Drake For Writing Some Of His Raps In Surprise Concert Shoutout

Kanye West has thanked Drake for helping him write some of his rhymes, marking another twist in their on-again, off-again feud.

Yeezy and Ty Dolla $ign performed in China last week for their second Vultures listening experience in the country.

In a video from the show that only began circulating on Thursday (October 3), Kanye can be heard showing love to Drake for his assistance in the studio while performing his 2018 ye cut “Yikes.”

“I wanna thank Drake for writing this chorus for me,” he said during the intro of the track.

Kanye’s unexpected shoutout comes shortly after a video of Drake recording his reference track for “Yikes” emerged as part of the Toronto rapper’s 100 Gigs content dump.

Although Drizzy was credited as a songwriter, the track — and the rest of ye — arrived at the height of his beef with Kanye’s close collaborator and then-G.O.O.D. Music labelmate Pusha T.

Yeezy himself was dragged into the back-and-forth, with Drake taking shots at him on “Duppy Freestyle” and creating a faux $100,000 invoice for “promotional assistance and career reviving” addressed to G.O.O.D. Music and Def Jam.

Drake even alluded to lending his pen to Kanye on “Duppy Freestyle,” rapping: “I’ve done things for him I thought that he never would need / Father had to stretch his hands out and get it from me / I pop style for 30 hours then let him repeat.”

He also spit: “I just left from over by y’all puttin’ pen to the sheets / Tired of sittin’ quiet and helpin’ my enemies eat.”

The shoutout also comes just weeks after Kanye dedicated a performance of “I Wonder” to Drake during his and Ty Dolla $ign’s concert in South Korea in August.

The friendly gestures are a sharp 180 from earlier this year when Ye dissed his “Forever” collaborator, as well as J. Cole, on a remix of Future, Metro Boomin and Kendrick Lamar’s “Like That.”

“Y’all so out of sight, out of mind / I can’t even think of a Drake line / Play J. Cole, get the pussy dry,” he rapped.

The Chicago native also took various shots at his Canadian contemporary in an interview with Justin Laboy, claiming this his music “means nothing anymore” and that he’s guilty of “fixing” his impressive streaming stats.

      1. Two of Drake’s pens have already been confirmed. One of them being lil yatchy. 2nd drake has underage girls in his mansions. That’s two things he has in common with Diddy. Greg, go outside and make some friends.

      1. Okay? Most black men are, just most of us are in denial. I’m not. I’m proud to be gay. I’m ecstatic that the LGBTQ community has put black and brown on their flags. Now, they finally represent the majority of us. Don’t be homophobic. That’s for Trump supporters. Thank the LGBTQ community for including us!
