In a video from the show that only began circulating on Thursday (October 3), Kanye can be heard showing love to Drake for his assistance in the studio while performing his 2018 ye cut ā€œYikes.ā€

ā€œI wanna thank Drake for writing this chorus for me,ā€ he said during the intro of the track.

Kanyeā€™s unexpected shoutout comes shortly after a video of Drake recording his reference track for ā€œYikesā€ emerged as part of the Toronto rapperā€™s 100 Gigs content dump.

Although Drizzy was credited as a songwriter, the track ā€” and the rest of ye ā€” arrived at the height of his beef with Kanyeā€™s close collaborator and then-G.O.O.D. Music labelmate Pusha T.

Yeezy himself was dragged into the back-and-forth, with Drake taking shots at him on ā€œDuppy Freestyleā€ and creating a faux $100,000 invoice for ā€œpromotional assistance and career revivingā€ addressed to G.O.O.D. Music and Def Jam.

Drake even alluded to lending his pen to Kanye on ā€œDuppy Freestyle,ā€ rapping: ā€œIā€™ve done things for him I thought that he never would need / Father had to stretch his hands out and get it from me / I pop style for 30 hours then let him repeat.ā€

He also spit: ā€œI just left from over by yā€™all puttinā€™ pen to the sheets / Tired of sittinā€™ quiet and helpinā€™ my enemies eat.ā€

The shoutout also comes just weeks after Kanye dedicated a performance of ā€œI Wonderā€ to Drake during his and Ty Dolla $ignā€™s concert in South Korea in August.

The friendly gestures are a sharp 180 from earlier this year when Ye dissed his ā€œForeverā€ collaborator, as well as J. Cole, on a remix of Future, Metro Boomin and Kendrick Lamarā€™s ā€œLike That.ā€

ā€œYā€™all so out of sight, out of mind / I canā€™t even think of a Drake line / Play J. Cole, get the pussy dry,ā€ he rapped.

The Chicago native also took various shots at his Canadian contemporary in an interview with Justin Laboy, claiming this his music ā€œmeans nothing anymoreā€ and that heā€™s guilty of ā€œfixingā€ his impressive streaming stats.
