Kanye West‘s appearance on LeBron James’ The Shop has been scrapped due to him spouting “more hate speech and extremely dangerous stereotypes” while recording the episode.
Maverick Carter, who runs LeBron’s SpringHill Entertainment production company, issued a statement about the decision to Andscape on Tuesday (October 11), revealing the episode was taped on Monday (October 10) after being booked weeks in advance.
“Yesterday we taped an episode of The Shop with Kanye West,” he said. “Kanye was booked weeks ago and, after talking to Kanye directly the day before we taped, I believed he was capable of a respectful discussion and he was ready to address all his recent comments. Unfortunately, he used The Shop to reiterate more hate speech and extremely dangerous stereotypes.
“We have made the decision not to air this episode or any of Kanye’s remarks. While The Shop embraces thoughtful discourse and differing opinions, we have zero tolerance for hate speech of any kind and will never allow our channels to be used to promote hate.”
Carter added: “I take full responsibility for believing Kanye wanted a different conversation and apologize to our guests and crew. Hate speech should never have an audience.”
Sources close to the production said Kanye West made anti-Semitic remarks during the episode. Other guests included Jeezy and shoe designer Salehe Bembury, but LeBron James wasn’t present.

The incident comes shortly after Kanye West stirred controversy by wearing a “White Lives Matter” shirt at his Yeezy Season 9 show during Paris Fashion Week.
Additionally, Ye’s social media accounts were restricted last week after he claimed Diddy was being turned against him by Jewish people and vowed to go “death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE” in a since-removed tweet.

It’s weird how people get freedom of speech and repercussions for one’s speech mixed up. Dude is 100% free to say what he wants. He didn’t get arrested! BUT, if you are on someone’s show talking crazy, they have every right to not play your show. IT IS THEIR SHOW. Just like if a caregiver is working at a Day Care facility, and starts cursing at the kids, she will probably get fired!! The day care isn’t barring free speech, they just aren’t going to enable someone to do that in their place of business. Just like he has rights, they have rights too. And that includes the right to not be a soundboard for offensive speech of any kind from anyone.

Would have been an interesting show honestly as Kanye and Lebron are on different sides of the aisle. Perhaps there were things Lebron disagreed with so they automatically called it “hate speech” ro save grace.
As we read about Ye’s antics, even recently, it’s totally credible to believe that he spazzed out. He’s not decreasing but increasing on his antics. I wonder what his future looks like with such weird behaviour.
His hatred towards everyone is obviously a reflection of his own self hatred. He’s always seemed to me, even in his younger days, like a gay dude hiding his identity, through religion and narcissism. Kanye is a piece of shit. It’s not mental health issues. It seems like he’s allowed himself to buy into his own hype and has become extremely disillusioned and detached from reality. It’s embarrassing what he’s become when he used to actually matter to those of us who grew up in the culture.
