Kanye West Pens McDonald’s Poem For Frank Ocean’s “Boys Don’t Cry” Magazine

That Frank Ocean is sure is full of surprises.

In the past 48 hours, he’s given the world not one, but two albums (one complete with its own visual). Last night (August 20), Blonde, the second studio album from the Grammy Award-winning crooner, made its way onto iTunes, succeeding its barely-a-day-old predecessor, Endless.

And now it’s been discovered that the ex-Odd Future member developed custom pop-up shops in New York City, London, Chicago and Los Angeles.

Billboard stumbled onto the NYC location and uncovered a magazine that bore the name of Ocean’s now infamously scrapped album title, Boys Don’t Cry, complete with contributions from Kanye West, Tyler, the Creator, Lil B, James Blake, A$AP Rocky, photographer Nabil Elderkin and more.

The most interesting of the features unsurprisingly came from West, who decided to use his copy space to express his love for McDonald’s of all places.

    McDonald’s man
    McDonald’s man
The French fries had a plan
The French fries had a plan
The salad bar and the ketchup made a band
Cus the French Fries had a plan
The French fries had a plan
    McDonald’s man
    McDonald’s
I know them French fries have a plan
I know them French fries have a plan
The cheeseburger and the shakes formed a band
To overthrow the French fries plan
I always knew them French fries was evil man
    Smelling all good and shit
I don’t trust no food that smells that good man
    I don’t trust it
    I just can’t
    McDonald’s man
    McDonald’s man
    McDonald’s, man
Them French fries look good tho
I knew the Diet Coke was jealous of the fries
I knew the McNuggets was jealous of the fries
Even the McRib was jealous of the fries
I could see it through his artificial meat eyes
And he only be there some of the time
Everybody was jealous of them French fries
Except for that one special guy
    That smooth apple pie

Oddly enough, the free copy of Blonde contained in the glossy Boys Don’t Cry magazine sported a completely different tracklisting than the one that premiered on Apple Music. (“I got two versions, I got two versions, I got two versions,” he yelps on the album opener, “Nikes.”)

The Boys Don’t Cry title has now revealed itself to be the name of Ocean’s own record label.

Meanwhile across the country, Ocean’s mother and brother turned out for the Los Angeles shop unveiling at Centerfold International located at Fairfax’s district to support and interact with fans.

      1. Talk to someone in real life. Get help. People care about you. Even if it doesn’t seem that way. Take care, my friend.

      2. People love you. Even if it doesn’t seem like it. It’s true. Talk to someone in real life and get help.

    2. I was reading the poem and (for some reason in my mind… Lol) it seems like kanye’s poem is supposed to be spit to the beat from “see you in my nightmares” LMAO …….Think about it……
