Kanye West and JAY-Z‘s relationship has grown rocky over the last eight years, and newly surfaced comments from the former might not help matters.

On Wednesday (August 7), conversative political commentator Candace Owens uploaded a previously unreleased interview with Ye that was filmed in October 2022 following the backlash to his “White Lives Matter” shirt and antisemetic comments.

During the conversation, Owens spoke about her admiration of JAY-Z, to which Kanye crudely replied: “I just think [Be]yoncé need to let him go get some pussy, seriously,” before bursting into laughter as Owens giggled awkwardly along with him.

Further suggesting that Hov should seek sexual pleasure outside of his marriage, Ye added: “Go to the DR [Dominican Republic] or something, you know what I mean?” before saying: “I don’t know if you’re gonna run that line or not.”

The Chicago native also called his former Roc-A-Fella label boss “the greatest rapper ever by the inspiration,” while praising Drake as “the best rapper ever by the numbers.”

Kanye West’s remarks are unlikely to sit well with JAY-Z considering the last time he mentioned his family in a negative light the Watch the Throne collaborators fell out.

During his ill-fated Saint Pablo Tour in 2016, West expressed disappointment that his children hadn’t been invited to play with Jay and Beyoncé’s daughter Blue Ivy.

At another show, he called out Jigga for not returning his phone calls, saying: “I know you got killers. Please don’t send them at my head. Just call me. Talk to me like a man.”

The Roc Nation mogul later addressed Ye’s comments on his 4:44 track “Kill Jay Z,” rapping: “You dropped outta school, you lost your principles / I know people backstab you, I felt bad too / But this ‘fuck everybody’ attitude ain’t natural / But you ain’t a saint, this ain’t Kumba-Ye.

“But you got hurt because you did cool by ‘Ye / You gave him twenty million without blinkin’ / He gave you twenty minutes on stage, fuck was he thinkin’? / ‘Fuck wrong with everybody?’ is what you sayin’ / But if everybody’s crazy, you’re the one that’s insane.”

Jay also admitted in an interview with the Rap Radar Podcast that he felt Kanye “crossed the line” by mentioning his wife and daughter, adding: “Now that’s a problem with me.”

Though the rap titans eventually reunited on the Donda song “Jail” in 2021, Kanye has continued to air his grievances with his “Big Brother.”

In his explosive Drink Champs interview later that year, he called Hov “selfish” for keeping the Justin Timberlake-assisted “Holy Grail” for his solo album Magna Carta Holy Grail instead of their Watch the Throne collaboration.
