Kanye West & Dame Dash To Executive Produce GLC’s Next Album

After news of a planned buy-out of Karmaloop, Kanye West and Dame Dash’s next collaboration will apparently have to do with music.

Chicago rapper GLC’s new album, The Book Of St. Ism, will reportedly be co-executive produced by Dame and West, according to The Fader. While he’s released a handful of mixtapes in recent years, the album will be the first for GLC since his 2010 debut Love, Life, and Loyalty which was largely produced by Kanye West as well.

“GLC is the best at what he does,” Dame Dash said in a statement. “When he played me his music, I knew I wanted to put this album together and I gave Kanye a call and brought him in.”

GLC’s connection to West dates back more than 20 years when they were part of the Chicago group the Go Getters alongside another rapper named Timmy G and producer Arrowstar. While the group’s album was never fully released, GLC would later sign to G.O.O.D. Music in 2005 before leaving the label in 2010. During his stint on G.O.O.D. Music GLC contributed guest verses to Kanye West songs like “Spaceships” and “Drive Slow.” In 2011 GLC featured on Kendrick Lamar’s Section.80 album on the song “Poe Man’s Dreams.”

Speaking about his next full-length, GLC says, “The ism teaches kids and adults to apply themselves and to supply their wealth all while understanding that the only limitations you’ll ever have are those that you place on yourself.”

    1. Ain’t nobody checking for GLC. They only cared about his features on Kanye tracks and executively produced don’t mean shit.

      1. That’s pretty much true. Just putting Kanye and Dame as the executive producers might just be to make the album look good. We already know Dame contributes nothing, and Kanye might not be as involved as it would appear. It’s like Beyonce “writing” her songs with a co-writer when we all know she doesn’t write shit, and the co-writer does the whole song for her. Some things are just for show.

    2. I was just wondering if Kanye got back together with GLC, since he’s working with Consequence and Dame Dash now. It’s good to see him returning to his roots. What about Tony Williams and Really Doe? “In the studio with Really Doe, yeah he next up”
