Juice Wrld Dies At Age 21 After Suffering Seizure

Multi-platinum rap star Juice Wrld has been pronounced dead. He was 21.

According to TMZ, the ‘Lucid Dreams’ rapper (born Jarad Anthony Higgins) suffered a seizure while walking through Chicago’s Midway airport on Sunday morning (December 8).

When paramedics arrived on the scene, law enforcement sources reported he was bleeding from the mouth. Although he was still conscious while being transported to the hospital, he was pronounced dead not too long after arrival.

As of press time, Juice Wrld’s cause of death is unclear. Despite never disclosing any health issues, he openly admitted to a lean addiction in July but declared he was officially done with the habit.

Juice’s popularity exploded in 2017 with his Nick Mira-produced track “Lucid Dreams,” which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts and is currently 5x platinum with nearly a billion streams on Spotify alone.

The song, which samples Sting’s 1993 hit “Shape Of My Heart,” became the subject of a threatening lawsuit by Sting himself. However, in an interview with Billboard, Sting called “Lucid Dreams” a “beautiful interpretation that is faithful to the original song’s form.”

Juice’s reign was followed by more hits such as “Lean Wit Me” and “All Girls Are The Same.” In 2018, he dropped his debut album Goodbye & Good Riddance as well as his collaborative mixtape with Future Wrld On Drugs. In March 2019, he released his sophomore album Death Race For Love, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

On his song “Legends” off his Too Soon…EP, he entertains the idea of dying young.

“What’s the 27 Clu-u-u-ub?/We ain’t making it past 21,” he sings on the track dedicated to XXXTENTACION and Lil Peep.

HipHopDX sends its condolences to Juice Wrld’s family and friends.

    1. Damn shame. Had a great career ahead of him. Hope it wasn’t the lean that got him – these young rappers are dying way too early.

      1. Pretty sure it was the Lean that got him, unfortunately. rappers need to stay away from that shit. It’s already killed so many people already.

      1. My guy… this ain’t it. You hiding behind the comments like a bitch. This could happen to your little brother

    2. Honestly, if it’s lean/drug-related, I don’t even give a fuck. If you don’t care about your own damn life, why should I? If it’s a health issue, sorry to hear, RIP.

    3. The lean is not responsible for this. In scientific perspective, the lean helps your blood circulation and it gives you positive energy. But we all know when one overdoses one, it happens. Rest in piece young nigga, there’s no heaven for a G but possibly for you.

      1. First off RIP. Now to you, you stupid cough syrup addicted dumbass. Keep telling yourself that to try and justify drinking that prescription piss. Abusing codeine causes cardiac damage, that’s a FACT. Don’t give out information on something you don’t have a clue about. There are impressionable young readers on this site. Enjoy your short life abusing prescription drugs you junkie f.aggot.

    4. These newer rappers really need to cut out lean from their daily routine… Rest in peace to Juice WRLD

      1. It wasnt like someone killed him or he died in a car wreck he did it to himself. You think 21 year olds just have random seizures and die all the time? You too much drugs and you o.d no one made him do it. He had everything but threw it all away to get high off some cough syrup at that seems pretty lame to me

    5. not to take away from his untimely death, R.I.P., but hopefully a positive can come of this and save a few lives of people abusing drugs/substances and help them live a longer life by acknowledging it

    6. Y’all still think it is cool to rap about consuming lean, pills and over use of alcohol? Stop that dumb shit man.

    7. Damn. Cmon hip hop, we gotta get it together. I was a heroin addict for almost 10 years. Lost the best years of my life to it. I’m 27 now and been clean for 3 years. Please go get help if you are struggling. PLEASE! This sh*t is no fun. Rest In Peace my man

    8. If your going to do drugs, stick to natural things, Marijuana of course, kratom powder, mushrooms, ect… None of them will kill you, while of course drugs can have negative impacts on your mental health still. Kratom is a great drug to replace many dangerous ones with, as it isn’t known to cause the same issues as prescription pills, works just as good, and is quite enjoyable recreational. No chance emof overdose either. Stick to God’s drugs! All because it’s natural doesn’t mean it’s safe either though, so always be cautious!

    9. Yeah he sold his soul and he recorded it. Look up video with him and G Herbo and Juice walking towards some ritual and he blatantly saying he selling his soul he gonna be rich as hell. Go look it up.

    10. He sold his soul. If you sell your soul, you deserve death. Selling your soul for Riches is encouraging pure evil. Selling your soul is a real thing. Yes, it’s a metaphor for essentially making yourself into a slave, who will do anything you are told.

Its the same reason all of Hollywood loved Trump, then were ordered to hate him. Well, that, and he’s helping expose the satanic pedofile rings among Hollywood’s highest ranks. Pure evil!

    11. Say no to drugs kids. And I don’t want to hear any nonsense about how his death was caused by an accidental drug overdose Smh. There’s no such thing as an “accident” when you’re doing heavy drugs. An accident is when your elbow knocks over a cup of coffee.

    12. Y’all lil niggas can keep sipping on that lean and poppin them pills like they skittles. Imma sit here a smoke my weed that STILL HAS NOT KILLED NOT ONE HUMAN BEING YET. Rick Ross and Lil Wayne had multiple seizures and they are lucky to be alive but still niggas still pour that mud in the cup and chase it down it Percocet pills. Play stupid games win stupid prizes . Ultimate prize…….DEATH

      1. Based on the way you formulate your sentences, you really shouldn’t be smoking Marijuana… You need all the brain power you can get!

        1. Oh look it’s the teachers pet trying to correct my grammar on the Internet. How nice of you. Didn’t know being grammatically correct meant so much to you on THE FUCKEN INTERNET

      1. Back in the 90s rapper only rapped about smoking weed now days these teen rappers rap about taking every drug under the sun like X Xanax Hydrocodone oxycodone shit you do not want to screw with you will only live a few moths hitting these hard drugs S M H.

    13. Lil Wayne wasn’t the first lean sipping rapper, but he definitely made it a lot more mainstream than it was when Three 6 and all the Houston guys were doing it. Now look what’s happening to all these kids (and Wayne has been very low profile the past several years, but I’m pretty certain he’s still doing lean, only because I think it would have been big news if he quit)

    14. No sympathy and no compassion for motherfuckers doin heavy drugs 24/7 and dying from OD. May his death be an example to the youth doin drugs too

    15. Juice Wrld made me want to get into music. He was the voice of a generation of black boys and back youth. His music stood for so much. He made the most meaningful music from any artist in history. He will inspire the youth to make a change in the United States and the world. When you think of the the 2010’s, you will see Juice Wrld. He is the greatest rapper of all time.

      1. RIP to Juice Wrld for sure. But shut your fucking mouth about him being the greatest of all time. That is just a stupid thing to say. I mean really stupid.

    16. Wonder if Sting will still pursue that royalties lawsuit now the dudes dead!! More money than ever will come from that song now!!!

      1. Essentially it is stings song, he just rapped over the beat.I think Sting has enough money for the rest of his life. RIP Young Man.

      2. You think Sting owns the rights to the song? Hell no, the label does. And we all know “people” who run the labels are greedy immoral disgusting bunch..

    17. Who cares!!!!!! This generation of rappers are slaves. They must sound, act and look the same or be thrown away like trash. They never earn their spot in the game and r so eager to keep it. Lil kid rappers are a dime a dozen so expect more ACCIDENTAL deaths. BRING BACK THE POT SMOKING HIP HOP ARTISTS THAT WE LOVE!

    18. That’s so fucked up!
It’s such a cheap and craven reaction to bash public individuals when they are no longer among us.
Get a life kidz and better keep on reading!!!

    19. Another one gone by lean & pills I’m guessing? Bro this new generation doesn’t give af until it’s clearly too late

    20. To all you dudes saying “Juice WRLD is a legend” and “Juice WRLD was the greatest”.

How come he wasn’t the greatest when he was alive?

You guys did the exact same with nipsey, xxxtentacion Lil peep but didn’t care when they were alive.

People like this are jumping on a band wagon cause it’s the trendy thing to do and it’s bullshit.

      1. Don’t put Nipsey in the same sentence as the others. He was on a whole different level, had a longer career and was a hero in his community. Otherwise I would agree.

    21. Niggas gotta stop taking this life shit for granted. You can make money and still not lose yourself to the evil trappings of the world. says:

Man. This shit is so crazy. I woke up and hopped on this website and found out, then I headed over to TMZ to see what was going on. Another tragedy that maybe could have been avoided because we don’t know yet what it was that caused Lil homie’s death. I’m pretty sure there are different reasons as to why a person can have a seizure. Maybe the lean or drugs did contribute to homie’s death but, this nigga was a GROWN ASS MAN who chose to live his life the way he saw fit. If the lean caused this then, oh well. Doesn’t matter how he died to be honest. Dude is dead now. I feel a Lil bad because I got a verse that I was writing in which I dissed this dude and other “emo rap” rappers. I think I was dissing Juice WRLD, Trippie Redd, Snitch Nine, probably a few others but, man. I don’t know if that verse will ever see the light of day now. I kind of feel a Lil bad because I always thought homie’s music was wack. I thought his personality was cool but, to me his music just didn’t resonate. I’m more of a fan of Classic Hip Hop, East Coast Hip Hop, Houston and Memphis Rap, that dope shit. That emo rap shit is just trash to me. You would think that these rappers would have slowed down consuming all these drugs after what happened to Fredo, Peep, and Mac Miller. Hell, even DJ Screw and Pimp C died as a result of overdoses/drug usage. Unfortunately, drugs and Hip Hop are synonymous with each other. Shit is fucked up tho. Long Live Juice WRLD tho. Just turned 21, now gone forever. Another Hip Hop tragedy.

    22. I only knew this guy as the guy I would constantly hear songs from and think it was Post Malone, I’m not a fan of the mumble rap or whatever this is considered, but he was a kid who had a drug problem he apparently couldn’t shake. RIP to this young man who had a promising career ahead.

    23. This is scary because i have seizures all the tine, i was just in the hospital a few weeks ago for it..but I’ve never done lean or popped any pills or any drugs before but man RIP..i actually did listen to him a little..

    24. I have done tons of lean as a teen and not once did I get a seizure. This has to be either an allergic reaction or a preexisting condition.

    25. Let the Twitter Circle Jerk commence ! Now we will be seeing every Kylie Jenner and Barack Obama under the sun tweeting out shit like “omg so tragic rip juice wrld i miss u forever”, all kinds of tributes from people who had never even heard ot he man until he died!!!

    26. Fucked up wasnt a fan of the guy really but damn dead at 21 is horrible but drop this shit pills and syrup stupid for 21 this guy looked like shit dont get how you can have so many around you that let you destroy yourself

    27. Didn’t know him. Condolences to all involved, especially the family. But this modern south influenced rap culture with all its cough syrup and Percocet being promoted has always been corny as fuck. All of it is wack.
