Joe Budden Unveils ‘The Joe Budden Network’ After Spotify Split

    Joe Budden has set a new course for his podcasting career. The former Slaughterhouse member announced the launch of The Joe Budden Network following his much-publicized departure from Spotify.

    “The Joe Budden Network is here,” reads a post from the network’s official Instagram account.

    Budden also unveiled the first show joining his network via his personal Instagram page. The retired MC has recruited singer Bridget Kelly, podcaster Mandii B and DJ Olivia Dope to host a podcast titled See, The Thing Is.

    “And NOW we get to have some fun,” Budden wrote. “I always say on the pod there are too many topics that we can’t and shouldn’t touch.. and that women get to have all the fun… So I’m extremely proud/eager to introduce our new podcast ‘See, The Thing Is’ featuring Bridget Kelly, Mandi B and Olivia Dope.”

    He continued, “Bridget – You’re about to KILL in this space & im just happy i get to watch. Mandi – this is a long time coming for us.. you’ve already seen success in this space, but watch this… lol. Olivia – I’ve always had a thing for Brooklyn girls (COMEDY STYLE!!).”

    Budden capped off his message by revealing the start date for the trio’s podcast and letting fans know it’d be available on most digital streaming platforms.

    “Starting 10/6 & every Tuesday thereafter you can hear these amazing ladies talk their shit (on most dsps), not sure what they’ll say because I’m staying outta women’s business lol… But they’re bold, committed, opinionated and have a lot to say.”

    1. Joe made a very important point: why would he invite artists to Spotify when he knows Spotify is trying to take ownership of their platform. I think a lot of what he said about ownership for the creators went over Charlemagne’s head. This is an awesome start to creating a grassroots platform while maintaining full control.
