Joe Budden has taken aim at Logic once again, this time for “snitching” on his mother (who is white) by sharing a story about her being stabbed for using the N-word.
During a recent episode of The Joe Budden Podcast, the former Slaughterhouse MC played a recording of the Under Pressure lyricist telling the graphic story in a May interview with comedian Andrew Santino.
“My mom got stabbed,” Logic recalled on Santino’s Whiskey Ginger podcast. “Yeah, she was in the park, hit the hard ‘r’ on somebody, which she also did to me and my siblings all the time. She stepped out and thought it was all good and some bitch just yanked her up.”
He added: “They stabbed this bitch up. In her side and in her back. A couple times.”
Joe Budden and his co-hosts proceeded to clown the Maryland native for being “weird,” with Budden going so far as to accuse him of ratting on his own mom.
“And you want me to think that this guy is okay with who he is and just his own skin and being himself?” Budden questioned, before adding: “What’s that about? That’s weird. Why you snitching on moms?”
The New Jersey native also turned his attention to Logic’s relationship with father, poking fun at the rapper for recently “parading” his dad (who is Black) around and signing him to his label — a move he implicitly likened to slavery.
“When he paraded his dad everywhere on a leash, I didn’t say nothing, but I did think it was odd,” he continued. “Then he signed his dad… seems familiar. That was the trend, like, 600 years ago. Getting paperwork on these n-ggas [laughs].”
Logic signed his father, Robert Bryson Hall Sr., to Bobby Boy Records in June. He announced the deal by bringing his dad out onstage during his College Park Tour, where he also shed light on their complicated relationship.
“Why do you always ask me for money?” Logic recalled asking his father. “And you know what he says? ‘I don’t know. I think it’s just the fact that I’m financially insecure because I want to leave a legacy for your little brother.’ So I said, ‘You know what, dad? I’m gonna do an album with you. I’m going to teach you about Black ownership and what it means to run a business.'”
Logic then let his father know that he will surround him with all of his resources to be financially secure before having him sign a record deal to his label.
“Dad, I want to make sure that you’re safe,” he continued. “And we make this album, that you are protected, and you have the greatest lawyers in the fucking business, and I want to sign my father at 69-years-old to Bobby Boy Records right now. And give him what he always wanted.”
Upon signing the contract, both men embraced, prompting his father to say: “I love this boy.” He then when on to recite a slightly amended version of the intro from “Homicide,” Logic’s 2019 collaboration with Eminem: “I knew he was going to be a star… when he came out of my balls, n-gga!”
Meanwhile, Logic and Joe Budden have had a contentious relationship for some time now.
Earlier this year, Budden resumed his campaign against the Grammy-nominated rapper by begging him to retire from music after he dropped a singing cover of Ice Cube’s 1992 hit “It Was a Good Day.”
“Logic, I beg of you, I’m pleading with you: please join me in retirement,” he said on his eponymous podcast. “Never step near a recording device again! Throw your phone in the ocean! Be allergic to microphones! Promise your fans nothing! Don’t go to the studio ever again!”
He added: “You are the worst, yo! You are really, really bad! And then when we think he can’t get any worse, you have the bright idea of doing an Ice Cube flip.”
Logic responded to Budden’s scathing comments months later, telling MSNBC’s Ari Melber that Joe is “a hurt man, a very smart man and a fucking hater.”
Joe Budden has brain damage I swear. So he gave his dad a job, set him up for life so he wouldn’t have to ask for money anymore and that’s slavery? It’s the dumbest statement I’ve ever heard.

Logic is the corniest, most unlikeable rapper in the game right now. He plays both of his races whenever it suits him, and it always comes across as desperate. Just stick to your mid music, and leave the racial ish alone.
Logic needs to finish this man on Wax once and for all. Get Crooked I, Joel Ortiz, and Eminem on the track so he can shut up

Pretty sure Logic doesn’t speak with his mom. He’s addressed it in songs saying they haven’t spoken in years, so it’s not a surprise he called her a bitch. Joe seems to have a problem with this, but his old label boss had a public spat with his mom for years and I never heard Joe say a word about it.
In Hip-Hop, there’s two ways to be wack. One way is just to have no skills or talent. The other way is to be just a corny and cringy individual that carries a wack aura. That’s logic. It’s not that he has no talent, it’s that he’s just such a wack person. I don’t know how he got his protected spot in the industry, but it never felt real. You know someone is an industry plant when they have a billion fans but you’ve never met one of them.
