Joe Budden has made the bold claim that he has a better mixtape catalog than both Lil Wayne and 50 Cent.

In a clip from a forthcoming episode of The Joe Budden Podcast that hit X (formerly Twitter) on Monday (October 7), the former Slaughterhouse rapper claimed that his mixtape discography — most prominent among which are the volumes of his criticallyacclaimedMood Muzik series — has stood the test of time.

The question was posed and co-hosts began debating the merits between Weezy and Fif, and Joe said again and again that he had the best collection of tapes.

When asked who else would be included, he said: “It’s me, it’s 50, it’s Fab[olous], it’s Kiss [Jadakiss], it’s Wayne.”

Budden isn’t the first rapper who has made a debatable mixtape claim.

Back in July, Slim Thug said that he has profited more from the mixtape game than any rapper, ever.

In a video caught by The Art of Dialogue, the H-town veteran boasts that “no n-gga made more money off mixtapes than Slim.”

“At a young age, as a teenager, when I first met [Swishahouse co-founder] Michael ‘5000’ Watts, he showed me that I can do something that I love to do,” Slim began. “I’ve learned self-value from day one. No n-gga underground made more money on mixtapes than me independently… Not them n-ggas [DJ] Drama and them either. They was giving they shit away. Our wholesale price was eight [dollars]. No n-gga was getting more money than us who did it that long. No n-gga did it as long as Slim — underground, getting paid off mixtapes. No n-gga, period.”

Lil Wayne also had an opinion on mixtape history, though not exactly involving his own work.

Last year, he heaped high praise on Future, crediting the Atlanta rapper with having the greatest rap mixtape of all time.

Weezy sat down for a chat with frequent collaborator 2 Chainz for Complex‘s “GOAT Talk” series.

When asked what the greatest mixtape ever is, Wayne, without hesitation, answered 56 Nights by Future and DJ Esco — although he didn’t explain the reasoning for his pick.

For his part, 2 Chainz selected three including his own T.R.U. Religion plus The Dedication by Wayne and Trap or Die by Jeezy, all of which were hosted by DJ Drama.
