Jermaine Dupri and Durand Bernarr star in a hilarious promo for the forthcoming Usher tribute at the 2024 BET Awards.

Released on Thurday (June 20) ahead of the annual show on June 30, the clip finds Bernarr auditioning for Dupri with his own version of Ursh’s “Good Kisser”  – much to the disdain of JD.

Usher will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the annual show.

Announcing the news on Instagram on May 30, BET wrote: “We got a confession. U-S-H-E-R is this year’s LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT HONOREE at the #BETAwards!

The R&B icon is also nominated for four BET Awards at this year’s ceremony, including Album of the Year (Coming Home, Best Male R&B/Pop Artist and Best Collaboration (“Good Good” with 21 Savage and Summer Walker).

The award is given to ASCAP members who “have had a major influence on music and culture” and “recognizes their success as creators and changemakers,” according to a press release.

The singer will be presented with the award at a party in Los Angeles on June 27 celebrating the top R&B and soul music songwriters and publishers.
