Jennifer Hudson has one hell of a voice, and she’s offered insight into the one singer she would love to go head-to-head with in a Verzuz sing-off: Fantasia.

While chatting with Swizz Beatz on her chat show, the singer and the superproducer discussed his career, reaching a milestone in his marriage to Alicia Keys, a recent health scare, among other things.

At one point in the conversation, Swizz brought out his 12-year-old son Egypt, revealing his musical talent and perhaps following in his footsteps.

Jennifer also acknowledged that the producer played a significant role in creating the Verzuz platform, which “saved her life” during the pandemic, she said. Upon being asked when fans could expect the next season, Swizz slyly revealed that it would begin as soon as Hudson and Fantasia “sign the contract.”

In addition to the crowd’s enthusiasm, Jennifer herself admitted she was open to the idea.”That’s what y’all want,” Hudson declared to the cheering audience, adding: “We’ll see.”

In the event that Fantasia finishes preparing for the upcoming remake of Color Purple, which she’s starring in, and Hudson handles TV matters, the “Spotlight” singer pointed out that “we may have the chance to do that.”

Additionally, Hudson revealed that she would love to see Stevie Wonder and Smokey Robinson performing an “old-school” Verzuz. To which Swizz hinted that “it might be closer than you think.”

Swizz Beatz has no problem laying it all out on the line, whether it’s music or his personal life. Recently, he expressed doubts about a recent splurge he made for his wife — a limited edition Maybach worth nearly $500,000.

During a recent interview with Angie Martinez, Swizz Beatz and the host discussed everything from his nearly three decade long career in Hip Hop to what he thinks about artificial intelligence, the value of community resources, and more.

Throughout the chat, the musician discussed his marriage to Alicia Keys, noting that she tends to be overly kind to him.

This led the host to discuss his recent gift to Alicia and her reaction. In Swizz’s opinion, even though his wife may not admit it, she probably doesn’t even like the car.

“I don’t think she liked the goddam car,” he said, before Martinez pointed out that the singer did not seem like the “flashy” type either, so perhaps he has a point.

While Alicia likes to drive and collects cars, he said the gift is “still at the dealership” most likely due to reactions on social media to the lavish gifts he has given her in the past.

The new car, which was unveiled at a car show last December, is a Mercedes-Maybach S-Class S680 model and was designed by Virgil Abloh before his November 2021 death in partnership with Gorden Wagener, Mercedes-Benz’s chief design officer.
