Jay Z & Beyonce Donated Thousands To Baltimore & Ferguson Protesters, According To dream hampton

In a series of tweets sent yesterday (May 17), journalist/social activist dream hampton shared a bit of unknown news about Jay Z and Beyonce. According to hampton, the couple has been silently donating thousands of dollars to protesters in both Ferguson, Missouri and Baltimore, Maryland.

She revealed that when she approached Jay Z about financial assistance for protesters, the Brooklyn, New York rapper wired money to her within minutes.

“I’m going to tweet this and I don’t care if Jay gets mad. When we needed money for bail for Baltimore protesters, I asked hit Jay up, as I had for Ferguson, wired tens of thousands in mins,” dream hampton tweeted yesterday.

In addition to donating bail money for protesters, Hampton says the Carters also donated to the Black Lives Matter movement, and have requested that “folks keep quiet” about their financial contributions.

“When BLM needed infrastructure money for the many chapters that we’re growing like beautiful dandelions, Carters wrote a huge check…and more stuff, too much to list actually, that they always insist folk keep quiet,” she said.

In addition to penning stories for The Village Voice, Spin magazine, and other publications, hampton served as collaborator/ghostwriter for Jay Z’s “Decoded.”

    2. foh the hater inside me knows jay only did this so more ppl would buy his wack ass tidal app when the news leaked. stop writing checks n start writing your rhymes again cause your bars been fuckin lame since the black album

      1. The man is almost 50 dawgs, Bars, fam??? How about you grow up. Life passing you by and you expect everyone to stay the same like to Ass. Living your second childhood. You the Type of dude who tell the future CEO of Starbucks to give it up after 242 banks deny him a loan huh???

    3. I remember when Katrina happened and David Banner was putting in work and organizing and made some calls to his peers to help donate to the cause. He said that A lot of the so called “Conscious” rappers were nowhere to be found and when he hit up people like Nelly and Jeezy that sent over a check ASAP.

There are a lot of people who love to criticize Jay Z in terms of “how come he hasn’t responded about Baltimore?” Yet those same ones that Criticize haven’t done a damn thing for the community or anyone for that matter. Give props where they are due!!
