Jay Electronica has sparked excitement for a new album after posting a snippet of a song with Westside Gunn and Hit-Boy.
The elusive rapper wrote on X on Thursday (February 8): “Up in Sax Fifth w a big ole glock laaaawwwwwd,” and posted a link to Hit-Boy’s Instagram.

The producer had uploaded a snippet of a new track called “Best Wishes” which features a verse from Westside Gunn and a partial verse from Electronica.
The Grammy-winning beatmaker captioned the post: “Best Wishes by @jayelectronica and @westsidegunn produced by me. Elec just text me and said this his intro for the new album [eyes emoji].”

The snippet had fans in the comments section excited as Jay Electronica has only released one album, A Written Testimony, in 2020, despite first appearing on the scene in 2007.
One fan wrote to Hit-Boy: “Mannnn if you did a whole Jay Elec album on the low I’m a loss my shit.”

Another said: “Hit make a Jay Electronica and Nas record happen. That’s overdue.”
Despite the release of the snippet, the Roc Nation MC had appeared to tell Hit-Boy not to post it in a comment on an earlier Instagram post.
He wrote: “Ps, don’t post a snippet of the record you produced for me and @westsidegunn for the intro to my album. (Unless you really want to) (I don’t care if you upload the whole thing as long as it’s on your stories and it disappear in 24 hours).”
Hit-Boy responded to the comment, saying: “Intro vibe.”

Jay Electronica first teased a new album last year and appeared to announce that it would be called Bismillah Boys after the Arabic term.
The rapper also seemed to hint at the involvement of many of the biggest names, tagging the likes of Beyoncé, Diddy, Jadakiss, 2 Chainz, Erykah Badu, Conway The Machine, Just Blaze, DJ Premier and The Alchemist.
