A re-release of Atlanta rapper T.I.’s sixth studio album entitled Paper Trail: Case Closed, which was expected to include at least five brand new records, will not hit store shelves as reportedly planned.
According to MTV News, an Atlantic Records spokesperson explained that a physical “re-release is definitely not happening.” As a substitute, the spokesperson went on to say that Atlantic will “plan on releasing the additional songs digitally.
Along with “Remember Me” [click to watch] and “Hell Of A Life” [click to listen], the digitally-released pack will also include collaborative records with The Dream and Ciara. T.I. is currently serving a one-year prison sentence.
In other news, California rapper Murs [click to read] and Power 106’s The LA Leakers have teamed up to drop a free West Coast mixtape on July 21. Hosted by Murs and called Damn It Feels Good To Be A Gangsta, the mixtape features classic records from Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, and 2 Pac, among others.

In a recent video [posted below], Murs expressed his love for one of the songs on the mixtape, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg’s “Deep Cover.” Describing the record as “thematic, conceptual and dark,” Murs added his own opinion on who he feels is the “King of Rap.” “The coolest, still most relevant rapper in the history of Rap is mother fuckin’ Snoop Dogg; he’s the king of Rap. I respect Jay-Z and all them others, but the biggest rapper to ever do it is Snoop mother fuckin’ Dogg. Respect that.
