As aspiring artists continue to look for a sound that will catch the ears of the masses, one online company has figured out a process to quantify this search.
Music Intelligence Solutions has recently launched uPlaya.com, a site that gauges the success of an artist’s song based on similar patterns from popular records, as calculated by their Hit Song Science and Music Universe applications. CEO of MIS/uPlaya, David Meredith, explained the reasoning behind creative uPlaya.com. “As major record labels pull back on promotion for new artists, uPlaya provides a needed service by shining a spotlight on the songs of talented musicians from around the world who benefit from an objective validation of their work,” he said in a press statement.
While still in its beginning stages, uPlaya.com has already received backing from Public Enemy co-founder Chuck D, who also serves as an advisory board member for the site. Impressed by uPlaya’s effective process, Chuck D explained, “Online services have helped address the ‘availability’ problem for music, but consumers and artists are still frustrated by a lack of ‘visibility’ to easily connect great artists with potential fans. Music Intelligence Solutions’ Music Universe and Hit Song Science can solve the visibility problem better than any other technology that I have seen.”
