Every year, the New York City Parks Foundation offers a series of events throughout the five boroughs of New York City in an effort to encourage and revitalize New York City public parks and their surrounding neighborhoods. City Parks Foundation focuses on “some of the city’s most underserved areas” and brings entertainment and other activities free of charge to communities who otherwise don’t get much attention.
This year, they’ve got a great line up of 11 Hip Hop artists performing, mostly in their home boroughs, ranging from the Sugar Hill Gang, Soulsonic Force and Slick Rick to KRS-One, DJ Premier vs. Pete Rock [click to read] and Naughty by Nature [click to read].
To follow is a list of this summer’s Hip Hop performances, including dates, times and locations, sponsored by City Parks Foundation as listed on their website, CityParksFoundation.org.
