A service was held in Desto’s hometown of Memphis, Tennessee over the weekend, where a heartbroken Lil Uzi Vert took to the podium. The Philadelphia native spoke in a somber tone while eulogizing his late “Lunchroom” collaborator.

“I ain’t gon’ lie this don’t even feel real to me,” he began from behind a pair of black shades. “Destinee was always on my hip everywhere I go… I had got in some trouble and they put me away I had to go to a rehab program and all that.

“She called me every day… Even if she called to argue with me, she called me every day and that’s what counted.”

After a pause, Lil Uzi Vert opened up about how he and Lotta Cash Desto became very close in a short span of time and remembered their undying loyalty to one another.

“I don’t even know how I feel,” he added. “I got close over a short span of time. Just her loyalty, like, she showed me a different type of loyalty… She’d never let anyone get up near me.

“Anything she could do for me, she would do it. Just feeling something different, especially knowing I’m older than her so she was my little homie.”

Lil Uzi Vert’s Artist Lotta Cash Desto Reportedly Shot & Killed

Lotta Cash Desto — born Destinee Govan — was shot and killed in her sports car on September 24 after being approached by a male assailant. According to the Houston Chronicle, Desto shot back at her attacker, but ended up being fatally wounded. A female passenger was also with her at the time.

Desto gained significant momentum with a series of singles as she prepared to unleash her debut project. She teamed up with Lil Uzi Vert on the aforementioned “Lunchroom” in June, while her most recent release — a tribute to the currently incarcerated Young Thug called “Free Slatt” — arrived in September.
