Shoreline Mafia rapper OhGeesy was reportedly arrested for gun and drug possession following a friend’s funeral at the weekend.

According to TMZ, officers with the Burbank Police Department stopped OhGeesy and three of his friends on Saturday (September 3), claiming the vehicle’s tags were expired and tint was too dark. Officers noticed a bottle of codeine sticking out of OhGeesy’s pocket as he sat in the backseat.

After determining the driver also didn’t have a valid license, they did a search of the car and discovered a loaded gun. OhGeesy and his crew were all arrested for possession of a loaded firearm, while OhGeesy was hit with an extra drug charge for not having a prescription for the codeine. He was eventually released after posting $35,000 bond.

OhGeesy had attended the funeral of his best friend Dennis “Dile” Mitchell just prior to the arrest. He shared photos of the service to his Instagram account last week with three white heart emojis in the caption.

OhGeesy revealed Mitchell had passed away on August 10 with a pair of tweets that read: “Can’t believe my bestfriend just up n left me. Love u forever dile.

“Just lost my right hand ! so don’t mind these video posts for the new song droppin, my label gon post all my promo everyone else can leave me alone.”

On the album front, Shoreline Mafia hasn’t released a project since 2020’s Mafia Bidness, but OhGeesy dropped a solo album called GEEZYWORLD in September 2021 that he said he recorded completely sober. He opened about his journey to sobriety during an interview with No Jumper in March.

OhGeesy is currently on the GEEZYWORLD Tour, which continues on September 11 at Rolling Loud Toronto before wrapping up in British Columbia on September 27.
