Cam’ron and A-Trak have announced a collaborative album and shared the first single from the project.

U Wasn’t There is set to be released on September 23 via EMPIRE. The nine-track album features guest spots from Conway The Machine, Jim Jones, Styles P, Juelz Santana and Popcaan, with production coming from Just Blaze, DJ Khalil, !llmind, Lakim and others.

Recorded in Las Vegas, New York and Los Angeles, the album is described as “a crystallized, contemporary take on the Dipset sound we know and love,” with Dame Dash also making an appearance for some “trash-talking and philosophizing.”

The first single “All I Really Wanted” was released on Friday (September 2).

Cam’ron and A-Trak previously announced a joint EP called Federal Reserve in 2014, but the project never saw the light of day. The single released during that time, “Dipshits,” is set to appear on U Wasn’t There as a bonus track.

During an interview with Complex in 2014, A-Trak explained what his goal was for the original project they had planned.

“Linking up with Cam, there was a lot of, ‘What’s that ultimate feeling of Dipset that people might be missing?'” he said at the time. “And bringing that to the table with a current sound. One thing that’s important to say is this isn’t a throwback project. To me, Cam is forever relevant. People want to hear this now.”

He added: “With the world that I’m in through Fool’s Gold, we’re very much plugged into the generation where all these scenes interact. Cam with Dipset was one of the first ones. He laid the blueprint for that model, where kids don’t only want to hear their music, kids want to rock the pink fur and post the picture on their Tumblr and live the whole lifestyle.”
