Miami, FL

Azealia Banks didn’t take too kindly to performing in the wee hours of the morning at Miami’s Wynwood Pride concert on Saturday (June 11).

Despite performing with her breasts out, the provocateur decided to have an honest moment on stage, revealing to the crowd she wasn’t feeling the moment, despite performing only four songs.

“For a month and a half, I’ve just been fucked with,” she began. “I been really fucked around with, you know? Set times been moved, ‘Oh, you’re headlining, oh you’re not headlining, now you’re not this.’ I’m really not happy to be here! I’m so unhappy to be here, but what did the fans ever do?”

She continued, “I’m trying y’all, but it’s difficult. I really don’t wanna fuckin’ be here.”

It wasn’t long after she made such an admission her mic was cut and one of the stage displays showing her was cut off as well. Fans began booing and then Banks tossed her microphone into the crowd. One unruly fan threw a water bottle on stage in her direction before Banks was escorted away.

The two-day festival kicked off early Friday with Banks serving as the headliner according to the festival’s official website. However, it remains unclear why Banks was booked for the festival considering her history with the LGBTQ+ community, including getting suspended from Twitter for transphobic comments in 2020 yet clowning Boosie Badazz and Dave Chappelle over their homophobic statements.

Azealia Banks Calls Cardi B An 'Industry Plant' & Goes Off On Iggy Azalea

Banks has never been one to bite her tongue, especially on social media. After her original Twitter suspension, Banks resurfaced with a new handle and on Tuesday (June 7), fired off a series of tweets against Cardi B and old foe Iggy Azalea.

After affirming Cardi’s “Bodak Yellow” as a definitive New York rap record, Banks quickly declared how Cardi elevated from solely being a heavily pushed entity with label backing and how Iggy misused her time in the spotlight.

“She was an industry plant lmao,” she tweeted regarding Cardi. “But sis took advantage of the opportunity and rode that bitch the fuck out, assembled the right team, seized the moment and made herself a cultural mainstay. U have to respect it.”
