Azealia Banks is more known for her social media antics than her actual music — that’s a fact.
On Tuesday (October 13), Banks’ outspoken nature evidently got her suspended from Twitter after she fired off several transphobic tweets while talking about who should get the COVID-19 vaccine first. In the process, she slammed the trans community, prompting Twitter to take action.
“CANCEL ALL THESE DUMBASS LUXURY TRANSGENDER HEALTHCARE ‘RIGHTS’ AND REDIRECT THE CASTRATION FUNDS TO THE LATINO FARMERS WORKING TO ACTUALLY FEED ANY OF US THROUGH THIS CRISIS,” she wrote in one of the tweets. “THEY DESERVE ACCESS TO THE TRUMP COVID TREATMENTS MORE THAN ANY OF YOU ASSHOLES *NEED* TO CHOP YOUR COCKS OFF AND GET BREAST IMPLANTS AND HORMONES. THIS IS BULLSHIT.”
Banks wasn’t done there either. She continued arguing with anyone who’d call her out for her perceived transphobia, saying things such as, “WHO FUCKING CARES. Your hoes wants free healthcare to pay for breast implants under the guise of body dysmorphia but a cis gender woman can’t make the argument that she’s uncomfortable with the size of her breasts/face and ALSO get free luxury plastic surgery procedures?”

The 29-year-old rapper’s comments are particularly confusing because she claimed she and some of her family members were part of the LBGTQ community. In 2015, shortly after she caught flak for calling a flight attendant a “fucking faggot,” she tweeted, “I am bisexual. My brother is trans. My employees are all gay men … America picks and chooses when it likes to be offended.”
The Harlem native made headlines in August when she claimed Kanye West was hiding his homosexuality. She then alluded to feeling suicidal in another Twitter post, writing, “Yea, I think I’m done here. This pandemic, extreme lack of social interaction, no intimacy, combined with constant public ridicule is making life harder than its worth.”
She later confirmed she was OK and chastised people for seemingly only caring about her when she’s outwardly depressed, asking, “What is this obsession u bitches have with my despair?”

This isn’t the first time Banks has been removed from social media before and likely won’t be the last.
