According to Variety, rapper T.I. (real name Clifford Harris Jr) is in talks with MTV to have his own reality TV show. MTV will follow the Grammy Award-winning rapper as he continues to work on his new album Paper Trail, performs his mandatory 1,000 hours of community service and prepares for his one-year prison sentence– punishment for being caught in possession of an arsenal of unregistered guns last October just before he was scheduled to perform at the BET Awards .
MTV has already reportedly ordered eight episodes of the series, which is being produced by Ish Entertainment and co-executive produced by T.I.
Ish Entertainment‘s Michael Hirschorn told Variety.“We began the conversations in the middle of deliberations over what would happen to him. The original idea for the show had him staging a series of interventions in each episode with people in danger. But when we visited him under house arrest, it felt much bigger and more powerful than we anticipated.”
T.I.‘s highly anticipated new album Paper Trail is due in stores in August.
