Kanye West is a cultural icon and people will always have something to say about him, whether it’s positive or negative.
The public interest in Kanye grew over the years as the Chicago native scratched and clawed his way to the top of the Hip Hop mountain. Full of confidence and self-belief, Ye laid out a path he knew would take him to the top, even if most people didn’t take him seriously at the time.
During a recent episode of his podcast The ETCs with Kevin Durant, Brooklyn Nets All-Star forward Kevin Durant reflected on Kanye’s journey and his recent Netflix documentary jeen-yuhs.
KD shared two revelations that hit him while watching Coodie and Chike’s intimate three-part film, with one being the role Kanye’s music and career has played in his own path to success.
“Watching that doc made me realize how important Kanye is to my life,” he said. “His struggle of trying to get on and become a rapper, because he was known for making beats, but nobody took him seriously as a rapper and for him to go from that to where he is now, where so many people jumped on and understood where he was trying to go.”
Durant continued to reference Kanye West’s incredible ability to manifest everything he’s wanted in his life, arguing the Netflix documentary shows Ye has always been the way he is today.
“And then for him to predict all of the shit,” KD continued. “That’s really what that documentary was all about. He knew what he was about to do, and he was calling everything out.
“It was just so profound, like to hear these conversations he’s having with him and his moms. I get it. I get why Kanye is the way that he is. We always talk about we want the old Kanye back; he was just like this too back then — ranting, real confident.”
Kanye West has been in the game for over 20 years, so some fans may have forgotten he’s always had a habit of going on rants and exuded impenetrable confidence that can rub people the wrong way. Nothing he’s doing now seems to be new behavior, as it’s just Kanye being Kanye.
Yeezy isn’t the only rapper Kevin Durant has spoken highly of lately. Fivio Foreign and Stove God Cook$ have both received praise from the future basketball Hall of Famer, who’s even dipping his toes into an executive producer role alongside Young Thug on T-Shyne’s upcoming Confetti Nights album.
Yep pretty accurate
Toxic Entitlement mixed with sycophancy. That’s how you wind up a whiny ass billionaire that can’t find happiness in your life. Nothing is ever enough, and we all have to hear him kick and scream about it because there’s no consequences for his actions. As long as he can make a beat, dumbasses will be quick to excuse his behavior.
I can tell you broke cause money don’t make you happy.
Don’t worry about the money in my pocket, and I won’t worry about the lint balls and Church’s Chicken crumbs you got in yours.
Nothing wrong with bro he’s ah real Gemini period this world has change and you have to be the way Ye is or you gone get ran over
Pray. Let’s help one another ?????? God said in his word, Love one another
If crazy make you a billionaire I’m certified
That’s why ye is the goat and also why liberal puppets like Trevor Noah stay trying to hold this free thinking man down. If ye wasn’t so influential, Noah and these other puppets would never have been instructed by their handlers to come at ye!
None of this changes the fact that Kanye is cleary mentally ill and suffering by airing it out publicly. Sad demise of a man once considered a genius who can barely make a tolerable song at this point.
You obviously didn’t watch the documentary, and what do you do cause I never heard your music
HAVE A MUCH NEEDED SEAT SIR IT’S FUNNY HOW PEOPLE WITH MENTAL ILLNESS ALWAYS TALKS ABOUT PEOPLE WITH MENTAL ILLNESS GGG STANDS FOR GOING.. GOING…GONE.. GONE GET!!!
What I took from Kanye’s documentary is his focus, drive, and vision for becoming a music legend. He had many people behind the scene helping him thrive. Mos Def and Kanye’s Mother played an important role for helping him breakout. We also see how high profile people in the industry were threatened by Kanye and his rise to the top. Looking back, we can understand why people are envious of Kanye.
Kanye West needs to get help. He maybe use to be smart. However smart is not running off the mouth and abuse your family. Everyone loves their Mother. Many of use have lost their Mother and will lose our Mother. When you grieve over 7 years someone you lost. You need professional help.
Wow so your saying if your mother dies today or tomorrow you would put a time limit on your grieving…… You mean to tell me 7 years after she dies you going to be like fuck you mom I’m over you lmao
Honestly Ye might need help to accepthat fact that he lost his momma but his not wrong for mourning his momma forever ….Mother’s deserve that . Especially if she was like Donda so supportive and helped him climb th ladder .
Thank you Durant! This has been my point in Social Media! Kanye is misunderstood most real artist are! Those of you that want to judge his mental state need to check their own Mental Health. Too much judgement from people that don’t know him!
Love kanye west
To Judy you obviously know nothing about loss, grieving, or empathy. The comments that you made, are better left unsaid. Seems like you’re the one that need to seek help. You and your souless Kardashian following.
