Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon made headlines in an alleged wedding this month. Now, people can take the “alleged” out of the sentence. The couple has confirmed reports that the two stars held their wedding in late April.
“We really do feel we are soulmates,”Carey told People. “I never felt a love like this was in the cards for me.”Cannon added that Carey is “beautiful on the outside and 10 times as beautiful on the inside.”
Early reports seemed to have been confirmed by Bishop Clifford Petty of the National Church of God in Governor’s Harbour in Eleuthera, who admitted to presiding over the wedding. Family member Linda Cannon also spoke out.
“He called us and told us all about it,” she told E! News. “We are happy for him. If that is what he wants then we are happy for him. I’m not going to give you any details, but we are happy for him.”
Still, reports were not confirmed by the couple until this week. A week before the wedding, Nick Cannon actually denied that he rumors were true.
“I can’t even know what to say. She’s probably the most festive, remarkable person I’ve ever met. Good friend,” he said of his future wife. “Rumors happen,” he told MTV. “They do.”
Mariah‘s new single, “Bye, Bye”, is out now. Nick Cannon, coincidentally, directed the video for the track.
