Following the release of Omeretta The Great’s controversial track, “Sorry Not Sorry,” where she dictates what is and is not considered Atlanta, Latto agreed with Omeretta’s interpretations, so much so she ended up hopping on the “Sorry Not Sorry (Remix)” and generated her own bit of controversy in the process.

After namedropping 21 Savage, Migos, Ludacris and Ciara in her verse, fans were quick to accuse the Clayton County lyricist of shading her fellow ATL rappers, but Latto took to Twitter on Thursday (March 3) to say that is not the case.

“Y’all I’m not dissing the people I named on the verse!!” she wrote. “I’m saying so Migos is not Atlanta?? 21, Ciara, Ludacris etc because they technically not from the city but helped make it what it is!”

She added in another tweet, “That ‘ishnot Alanna’ TikTok that Shaderoom posted I had just sent the verse back to Retta & we was watching y’all eat it up in the comments. Check the background I was literally at the studio lol.”

Regardless of her clarification, fans still relentlessly trolled Latto for her comments, so she announced she’s signing off on the subject for now. “Lmao I’m done teasing y’all I’m tired of getting cussed out just hold off til tomorrow for a nice surprise,” Latto wrote.

Omeretta ultimately chimed in with her own two cents, claiming she questioned Latto on whether the verse she turned in was what she really wanted to say.
