Legendary fashion designer and entrepreneur Virgil Abloh passed away on November 28, 2021, after a private battle with cancer. Abloh was beloved by many for his innovative designs and while people wish he were still here, he left his friends with gifts that aligned with who he was as a designer.

On Thursday (January 20), avid sneakerheads and Hip Hop figures JadakissDJ Khaled and Fat Joe took to social media to reveal the package they received from Louis Vuitton, Nike and the late designer.

DJ Khaled was first up to bat with a video of him opening the box with Louis Vuitton print and a matching Nike tag. The contents inside the box were a fresh pair of red Nike Air Force 1s with Louis Vuitton print stamped all over them. The sneakers also came with Abloh’s Off-White motifs on the laces and midsole.

“This is so beautiful,” Khaled said as he marveled at the rare pair of Nikes. “Virgil was here and Virgil is still here. Long live Virgil.”

Fat Joe and Jadakiss opted for a picture of his pair of Nike Air Force 1s instead of a video like former Terror Squad member DJ Khaled. Joey Crack’s pair came in the same design as Khaled’s but had a purple colorway and Jada’s kicks were blue. Rumors are going around that Virgil Abloh’s team has been sending these pairs to family and close friends, but that’s unconfirmed as of press time.

DJ Khaled and Fat Joe aren’t the only sneakerheads in Hip Hop. Joining them are rappers such as Offset, Drake, Kanye West, Lil Yachty and more. 2 Chainz gave fans a look into his massive Air Jordan collection last month on Instagram.

“Okay the time has come, you know who you are, I want to tell you ‘thank you’ a million times. Still in the meeting,” 2 Chainz screamed in the video. “Y’all were tryna resell me these for three or $4,000 like I’m regular. There’s nothing regular about me… I know what I said, but this is what I’m doing now.”
