The Neptunes duo, Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo have gone the way of many produces, as of late, and have signed a label deal with Arista. The new label, to be called “Star Trak Entertainment”, will not only consist of hip-hop and R&B artists but they plan to expand into pop, rock, and even country.
The first projects, already hitting the street, is Virginia Beach, Va. based group called Clipse, and just signed rock group Spy Mob, from Minneapolis.
In a statement issued by the duo they said, “We are excited to be working with L.A. Reid (the CEO) and his entire team at Arista Records. Both have a storied tradition of creativity and great music and we’re looking forward to adding to the success and cultivating new talents from all facets of music — pop, rock, hip-hop, rap, R&B and even country. We don’t just want to define the categories, we want to create them.”
On another note a new release date has been set for the Neptunes debut album “N.E.R.D, In Search Of…
