Chicago, IL

The Only The Family crew has reportedly taken another hit. According to Say Cheese, OTF ARoy was shot and killed on Chicago’s O’Block on Monday (December 13) following an altercation with the suspect.

In a Facebook Live video of the incident, ARoy was pummeling the man and shouting, “You’re a grown-ass man. I’ll fuck you up!” The man momentarily laid motionless on the ground and the fight appeared to be over. But as ARoy was walking away, the man pulled out a gun and fired multiple shots into ARoy’s body, ultimately killing him.

Twitter is currently working overtime to remove the graphic and violent content from the internet.

Another report claims the woman who filmed the video was assaulted for posting the video online. In a clip of the alleged incident, a woman is seen on the ground getting stomped on as people scream in the background.

The OTF collective has faced a series of tragedies over the past 18 months. King Von was fatally shot outside of an Atlanta hookah bar in November 2020. Then, Lil Durk’s older brother OTF DThang was murdered near a Chicago strip club in June.

OTF founder Lil Durk and his affiliates have been embroiled in street life for years. In June 2019, Lil Durk and the late King Von were arrested on attempted murder charges.

Prosecutors claimed the two rappers robbed and shot a man outside a popular Atlanta drive-in for a Jeep Cherokee and $30,000 that same year. After weeks in jail, Durk and Von were released on $250,000 and $300,000 bonds, respectively.

But over the last two years, Lil Durk’s star power has only continued to rise. The Grammy Award-nominated artist released his debut album The Voice in 2020, which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and has since been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

OTF ARoy’s murder is the latest in a long string of shooting-related deaths. Young Dolph was killed in Memphis on November 17 as he was picking up cookies from his favorite local bakery. His murder has yet to be solved.
