This week saw Kelly Rowland release a digital-only album, Ms. Kelly: Diva Deluxe. The follow-up to July’s Ms. Kelly, the new album premieres five brand new tracks, including the single “Daylight” that features Travis McCoy of Gym Class Heroes. The album also has remixes of Ms. Kelly’s “Come Back” and the Eve-assisted “Like This.” Diva Deluxe is available on all digital music providers, as well as from her web site kellyrowland.com.
A cover for a mixtape with DJ Green Lantern, Russell Simmons and democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama has emerged online. The byline for the mixtape, entitled “Yes I Can” after Obama’s campaign slogan, is a simple, “Coming Soon.”
Producer Dame Grease, known for his soundscapes for Jay-Z, T.I., The Diplomats and others, is prepping for the May 27 release of a solo album. The Babygrande/Vacant Lot release, Goon Muzik, will see Grease producing all 13 tracks as well as rhyming alongside his group The Goon Squad, Max B., and others.
