French Montana went viral on social media in not-so-flattering fashion this week thanks to a Squid Game meme poking fun at the Bronx rapper’s penchant for collaborating.
“For the next game, you need to name FIVE French Montana songs without features,” the tweet read, alluding to the seemingly innocent games the show’s contestants must compete in to stay alive.
French Montana fired back at the joke by reminding fans of his extensive list of solo hits such as “Ain’t Worried Bout Nothin,” “Shot Caller” and “Don’t Panic.” And it appears the Coke Boys capo isn’t done blowing his own trumpet.
On Tuesday (October 26), French went on a Twitter rant accusing people of having “amnesia” for forgetting about the rest of his accomplishments. He boasted about having classic records with Max B, coining the ad-lib “HAANNNNN!” and having a diamond plaque (although the RIAA still has “Unforgettable” at 9x platinum).

However, a couple of his claims left fans scratching their heads when French tweeted about introducing the world to Chicago rap star Lil Durk and his 2021 track “FWMGAB” being the song of the summer in New York City — a claim Hot 97’s Ebro Darden is likely to dispute having given that title to Capella Grey’s “Gyallis.”
“THEY GOT AMNESIA LIKE I DIDN’T GIVE THEM CHINX DRUGZ LIL DURK AND HARRY FRAUD,” French tweeted, before adding, “THEY GOT AMNESIA LIKE FWMGAB WASNT THE BIGGEST RAP RECORD IN NY THIS SUMMER.”
Lil Durk is one of the most popular rappers out today, but in 2013 there were reports suggesting he signed to French Montana’s Coke Boys imprint. That wasn’t the case, however, as Durk never officially signed to the label and instead carved out his own path to where he is today.
French Montana’s claim that he discovered Harry Fraud isn’t as contentious, though. The producer worked closely with French in the early 2010s, scoring hits such as “Shot Caller.” After that song blew up, Fraud became one of the most in-demand NYC producers and added collaborations with the likes of Rick Ross, Pusha T, Curren$y and Action Bronson to his résumé.

French Montana’s Twitter rant comes right before he’s expected to drop a new single this Friday (October 29). HipHopDX sources say the track is titled “Amnesia,” fitting right in with French’s rant about people having memory issues when it comes to his contributions to Hip Hop.
Watch a brief teaser for the song below.
