Before closing out his After Hours era, The Weeknd is giving fans an inside look at his historic performance at the Super Bowl LV Halftime show. The Weeknd teamed up with SHOWTIME for a special documentary that takes fans behind the scenes of his set.

On Wednesday (September 1), The Weeknd unleashed the official trailer for his debut SHOWTIME documentary appropriately titled The Show. In the trailer, fans can expect concert footage, first-hand accounts from people who helped set up the show, rehearsals and more.

“We get a window into the process of a diverse team of executives and creatives working at the highest level, in front of and behind the camera,” director Nadia Hallgren said. “It’s fun to see these masters at work while they also uplift others. I hope this can inspire people to pursue big dreams.”

HipHopDX reported The Weeknd shelled out a heft $7 million to make sure the performance went smoothly. For his set, The Weekend wore a red sequined jacket, which reportedly took 250 hours to make, black-and-white wingtip shoes and performed a medley of nine of his biggest songs, including “Blinding Lights,” “Starboy” and “Can’t Feel My Face.”

The SHOWTIME documentary isn’t the only thing in television land The Weeknd is working on. In June, Deadline announced the Toronto megastar will star in, co-write and executive produce a new drama series for HBO titled The Idol

The Idol tells the story of a female pop singer who gets into an interesting relationship with a mysterious Los Angeles club owner who also happens to be the leader of a secret cult. The plot is right down The Weeknd’s alley, whose music usually deals with drugs, sex and relationships. With an intriguing plot summary like The Idol, fans will be paying attention to what Abel brings to life on the TV screen.
