Toosii is having one helluva year. The Syracuse-born, Raleigh-raised rapper was named one of HipHopDX’s Rising Stars in early 2021 and his success continues to mount.

According to a press release from Capitol Music Group, Toosii’s music recently hit one billion combined global streams and nabbed a gold plaque from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Rising to fame with tracks such as “Red Lights” and “Love Cycle” featuring Summer Walker, Toosii has carried his signature melodic sound to new heights, receiving co-signs from the likes of DaBaby and Lil Durk.

Sitting at nearly two million monthly Spotify listeners, Toosii has also become a hotly desired features rapper, lacing passionate guest verses on Lil Tjay’s Destined 2 Win, Queen Naija’s missunderstood, DaBaby’s My Brother’s Keeper, amongst many more.

Aligning with his streaming news, Toosii released the new track “head over hills,” a follow-up to May’s Thank You For Believing album.

The themes of heartbreak and pain are consistently explored in Toosii’s work but on his latest, the “Truth Be Told” rapper appears more hopeful and optimistic.

In the music video, the glow-up Toosii has experienced is apparent as he performs to packed concerts with a neck full of glittering diamonds.
