Harve Pierre, in his 15th year with Bad Boy Records, announced today that he has just become the label’s president. Sean “Diddy” Combs will remain Bad Boy‘s CEO as Pierre‘s new job title will be to oversee day-to-day operations of the New York-based imprint. Bad Boy‘s 2008 release schedule includes Danity Kane, Making The Band 4, and a third release from Yung Joc.
“Harve‘s promotion to president is well deserved” says Combs. “He has been with Bad Boy since the
beginning and has worked hard to learn all aspects of the business. He has always been an important part of
the A&R process and it is only fitting that Bad Boy would house his imprint,
Crazy Joint. I look forward to
Harve’s continued success.“
Crazy Joint is Pierre‘s own imprint, which will be held through Bad Boy. A New Yorker, Pierre began as Diddy‘s assistant before overseeing Craig Mack‘s Project: Funk Da World in 1994. In the years since, Harve has balanced various duties throughout the team. As an artist, he used the alias Joe Hooker, appearing on albums, including Black Rob‘s single “I Dare You” and Notorious B.I.G‘s “Tonight.” Pierre also edited the video from Yung Joc‘s “It’s Goin’ Down” in 2006.
