Queen Latifah continues to garner awards for her acting. After earning a Golden Globe Award and gaining an Emmy nomination, the 37 year-old earned a Screen Actor’s Guild Award Sunday night (January 27). The award come from Latifah‘s performance in Life Support, an HBO film that aired in March.

Not present to receive the award, presenter Mickey Rooney accepted on her behalf, referring to her as “Miss Latifah.Latifah‘s acting career began in 1993, with her three-year role on the acclaimed Fox series Living Single.

Musically, Latifah remains active. Having transitioned from Rap to Jazz after 1998’s Order in the Court. Her latest effort, Trav’lin Light was released by Verve Records in September of last year. Among acclaimed Soul and Jazz covers, the work features a cover of the Roberta Flack song, penned by Donny Hathaway and Curtis Mayfield, “Gone Away.” The song was sampled by DJ Toomp for T.I.’s “What You Know.”
