After a post Academy Awards scuffle [click here to read] left one man and witnesses saying that Sean “Diddy” Combs assaulted a man inside the famed Roosevelt Hotel last February, the Bad Boy Records mogul has been given a May 27 court date in Los Angeles.
Four witnesses were deposed yesterday (January 22) in Los Angeles, all agreeing that they saw Diddy physically assault Gerald Rechnitzer in the early hours of February 26, 2007. According to these reports, the parking lot incident began when Diddy allegedly speaking to Rechnitzer‘s fiancee Sofia Sokolov. A verbal altercation ensued, prompting Diddy, with his left hand, to back-hand slap the plaintiff, who reportedly fell into a taxi cab in the same parking lot.
No statements have been released from Diddy spokespeople. The mogul is also facing a $5 million charge in his home state of New York for a similar incident in a club, involving an altercation over a woman.
Presently, Diddy is wrapping up filming of his new season of MTV‘s Making the Band, which features male and female R&B/Pop groups competing for contracts and a release on Bad Boy Records.
