According to the Los Angeles Times, EMI has had enough of Mariah Carey and will buy out the rest of her contract without releasing any more albums.
Her current deal with the British label -$80 million for four albums- is the largest contract ever signed for a music deal. But apparently the label was disappointed by her latest offering Glitter that sold far fewer units than they had hoped. (Not to mention the movie was wack!)
There are now rumors circulating that Mariah may wind up with Clive Davis’s J Records, but we will have to wait and see on that one.
