Summer Walker’s vocals and pen have given fans numerous reasons to celebrate during the course of her brief career. The Atlanta native’s Over It debut album not only went platinum, it also inspired Diddy to make one of his biggest claims yet.
On Saturday (January 30), the Bad Boy mogul visited a pregnant Walker and gifted her an exclusive Chanel bag with a personal note attached.
“To Summer,” Diddy wrote. “1 of my Greatest voices EVER. Thank you.”
Walker shared the bag and the note with a simple thank you response on Instagram.

Diddy’s list of singers he’s co-signed has grown over the course of his 30 years in the industry. From Mary J. Blige to Faith Evans and Dirty Money, he’s overseen plenty of talented vocalists and to him, Walker is joining a long line of successful singers.
Walker has been open in regards to R&B being on par, if not better than Hip Hop in recent years. In a November 2020 sit-down with Billboard, the “Girls Need Love Too” singer expressed how deep R&B is getting, especially thanks to new talent.
“R&B is better than the Hip Hop of 2020 to me because that can get super shallow and repetitive,” she said. “Or there’s the whole mumble rap trend, where you don’t even know what they’re saying. We’re really opening up, getting deeper — and that’s good.”
Walker recently revisited her 2019 debut album with an official video for “Body.” Shot in black and white, the singer highlights her growing baby bump and impending motherhood as she gives new meaning to the sensual R&B track, despite her issues with the unborn child’s father, London On Da Track.
