On the heels of getting J. Cole’s stamp of approval, DaBaby is the latest rapper to co-sign Morray. Baby posted his fellow North Carolina native’s “Quicksand” breakout single to his Instagram Story on Sunday (December 27).

The silky track made its way onto streaming services in October via Pick Six Records. Baby took note over the weekend and posted a screenshot bumping the melodic tune on Spotify, as he probably wishes he could’ve made Morray the latest addition to his South Coast Music Group roster.

The emerging rapper puts his storytelling on display by vividly depicting how he persevered through life’s trying circumstances.

“Since a jit stood tall with a kickstand,” he raps. “Thinking of a plan to get quick bands/Falling in deep with the quicksand/Flag out my ass, no quick brand/I was packing on the pounds, got my weight up/Had beef on the streets, had to stay up/Betty Crocker showed me how to bake a cake bruh/Doing that put everything I love at stake bruh.”

Cole co-signed Morray in October by giving him some props on his Instagram page. The Dreamville boss was blown away after listening to Morray’s “Quicksand.”

“This shit AMAZING,” Cole commented with a bunch of mind-blown and rocket emojis.

Morray continued to build on his momentum by closing out 2020 with the release of his contemplative “Dreamland” single on December 22, which finds him getting candid about his broken childhood.
