As America continues to see a record surge of cases in regards to COVID-19, the Hip Hop community has joined forces to uplift singer Jeremih, who according to his peers, is battling the virus.

The Chicago singer has been off social media since October 30 and on Saturday (November 14), numerous peers of his from 50 Cent to Chance the Rapper, Hitmaka and more have offered prayers for his recovery from COVID, which has claimed more than 243,000 Americans.

“pray for my boy Jeremih,” 50 wrote on Instagram. “he’s not doing good this covid shit is real,” adding the “Birthday Sex” singer was currently in a hospital in Chicago in intensive care.

Chance echoed 50’s sentiments, writing, “Please if you can take a second to pray for my friend Jeremih, he is like a brother to me and he’s ill right now. I believe in the healing power of Jesus so if you can for me please please say a prayer over him”

Hitmaka was among the first to call for prayers for Jeremih. The two previously worked on songs such as “Giv No Fuks” with Migos as well as “Dangerous” with Meek Mill and PnB Rock. “I need everyone to pray for my brother @jeremih,” he wrote. “this message is posted with his mothers blessings.”

In his Instagram stories, he added, “My dawg changed my life, he gone pull through pray for @jeremih. We need that energy. Pray for my brother he gone shake back.”

The 33-year-old singer and one of Hip Hop’s favorite choices when it comes to hooks has released four studio albums including 2015’s Late Nights which went platinum.

Fred The Godson Passes Away After Battling COVID-19

COVID has affected the Hip Hop community at large since the pandemic began in March. New York rapper Fred The Godson passed away in April from the virus and others such as Scarface, Slim Thug, Tokyo Jetz, Doja Cat and more have tested positive from COVID-19 in recent months.
