Fred The Godson has reportedly died after being diagnosed with coronavirus earlier this month. His best friend and collaborator Jaquae confirmed the news via Instagram on Thursday (April 23).
“Sleep in peace my brother,” he wrote in the caption. “You’ll never be forgotten. LOVE U MAN. I have so much things to say but I’m lost right now.”
There were reportedly recent signs he was improving but according to his wife LeeAnn Jemmott, the initial prognosis was grim.
She told News 12, “It was just like — he’s gone and he’s gonna die, that’s it. I don’t even know how I felt, I just felt like I was going to die.”
Hip Hop is showing up in droves to express their condolences on social media. Alchemist, Lloyd Banks, Skyzoo and Conway are a few of his peers showing love.
Rest In Peace Fred the Godson 🙏🏽

I’ve learned to not question the Universe. And with that understanding I never struggle with life happening just as it is intended to be. I Pray you all don’t misunderstand what it is that I am saying. This is painful for me hearing about two of my brothas transcending all in one morning. ITS A LOT ! By the power of my GOD and teachings & protection from the Ancestors, I Pray you all find peace at this time. I LOVE YOU ALL ! ABSOLUTELY ! Àse ✊🏾💜✊🏾💜 || RIP @fredthegodsonmusic • GIP @big_blacowt 🕊🕊🕊
