Drake doesn’t seem to be worried about the coronavirus as he enjoys his vacation in Barbados.
A video of Champagne Papi made its way to social media early on Monday (July 13), showing him casually strolling through the streets of the island with his drink in hand. He also posed for a photo with a few local fans – sans any masks or social distancing.
Barbados just welcomed visitors back on Sunday (July 12) following its closure for the pandemic, so Drake wasted no time. To date, the island has had 103 confirmed cases of COVID-19, seven of which were fatal.
Drake’s appearance in his ex’s homeland comes just ahead of not one but two DJ Khaled singles he’s set to appear on, dropping this Friday (July 17). In his announcement, Khaled promised the songs will bring a much-needed light to the current climate.
“2 KEYS 2 ANTHEMS 2 DJ KHALED FEAT. @champagnepapi THIS FRIDAY!” he wrote on Instagram on Monday. “THURSDAY 12 MIDNIGHT EACH [key emoji] LEADS TO THE NEXT [key emoji] ALBUM MODE.”
He added, “#WETHEBESTOVO SO YOU KNOW @wethebestmusic THROUGH THESE NEW TIMES DARK TIMES ,and this NEW NORM WE MUST FIND THE LIGHT ! I WILL BRING THE LIGHT THE LOVE AND MORE BLESSINGS ! FAN LUV MAY THE [key emoji]s BE WIT U!”
The songs are expected to appear on what will be Khaled’s 12th studio album. The project will follow 2019’s platinum-certified Father Of Asahd, which featured the likes of Cardi B, 21 Savage, Meek Mill, Nipsey Hussle, John Legend, Lil Baby, Buju Banton, Lil Wayne and more.
