T.I. offered a harsh dose of his reality to Iggy Azalea during a recent conversation with The Root. The Grand Hustle Records boss, who brought the Aussie singer onboard around 2011, ultimately severed ties in 2015.

Four years later, he evidently views her as a failed investment.

“I’m still actively looking for another female rapper who can undo the blunder of Iggy Azalea,” Tip said. “That is the tarnish of my legacy as far as [being] a [music] executive is concerned. To me, this is like when Michael Jordan went to play baseball.”

Azalea initially responded to Tip’s comments via Twitter but quickly deleted her sentiments. But, as we all know, screenshots are forever.

“Imagine thinking I was his biggest blunder lmfaoooooooo,” she wrote. “Tip. Sweetie. We have a whole list for you.”

Tip was originally going to executive produce Azalea’s 2014 debut album The New Classic. But according to a 2013 BET article, those plans were axed.

“He’s actually not, anymore,” Azalea said when asked about T.I.’s role. “He was going to be, but originally…all the records that I had on Glory [EP] were supposed to be on The New Classic, and he executive produced what ended up being Glory.

Azalea added, “As I was making it, I felt like, ‘This isn’t The New Classic; this is something else. It’s not the right sound.’ Not that it sounded bad, but it wasn’t what The New Classic is in my head.

“And he executive produced that, and that went good, it was an experience, but after, he said and I said, it’s better if I just make my own music away [from him] because sometimes being around him, it influences the music I make to be a bit too much of a different sound, and so for that reason he’s not going to be [executive producing]. But not because I don’t love him, because I love him.”

Azalea’s latest album, In My Defense, was released in July and debuted at No. 50 on the Billboard 200 chart, selling roughly 16,000 copies in its first week. The New Classic, on the other hand, debuted at No. 3 thanks in part to the strength of the “Fancy” single featuring Charlie XCX.
