Rapsody delivered her star-studdedEVE project last month. The 16-track effort paid tribute to 15 powerful black women who had an impact on Rapsody’s life — from Afeni Shakur to Nina Simone.

The album caught the attention of several of Rapsody’s peers, including Diddy. On Thursday (September 12), the Grammy Award-nominated MC hopped on Instagram to thank Diddy for his comments on EVE.

With “CLEO” bumping in the background, Diddy says, “OK, something that finally excites me. Rapsody. I’m excited. Yeah. Whewwww!”

Rap captioned the video, “Diddy gave Rapdiddy the ‘whewwwww.’ Thank you, Legend!! @diddy.”

In the comment section, Diddy added, “The rap game needs you. Thank you.”

EVE served as the follow-up to 2017’s Laila’s Wisdom, Rapsody’s Roc Nation debut. The album was nominated for two Grammy Awards in the Best Rap Album and Best Rap Song categories. It peaked at No. 125 on the Billboard 200.

This time, EVE hit the chart at No. 76, her highest debut yet. HipHopDX rated the album a perfect 5.0 for its overall concept, intricate wordplay and smooth production.

“CLEO,” which Diddy was bumping, was produced by Rap’s mentor 9th Wonder and uses a sample from Phil Collins’ 1981 hit “In The Air Tonight.”
