Eric “Eazy-E” Wright would have turned 55 on Saturday (September 7). To commemorate the occasion, the N.W.A legend’s family held a public ceremony to unveil his new tombstone at the Rose Hill Memorial Park and Mortuary in Whittier, California.
His son Lil Eazy-E invited the public via Instagram last month and revealed it was a surprise for Lil Eazy’s sister Erica Wright.
“Come n celebrate this great accomplishment n Birthday surprise my sister @wrknwn0feelns has done for my father N the family with the help of @officialcemeterytim,” he wrote in the caption. “BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION TO FOLLOW THAT NIGHT CHECC MY STORY DAILY FOR INFO. MUCH LOVE.”
The aforementioned “Cemetery Tim” shared a photo of Eazy’s old tombstone to his Instagram account on Friday (September 6).
According to several Instagram posts, Eazy’s new tombstone is more elaborate but contains the same text as the first one, “We Loved Him A Lot But God Loved Him More.”
The updated version, however, features his signature red logo, autograph, the title “The Godfather of Gangsta Rap” written in Old English and several iconic photos of the late gangsta rap pioneer. Toward the bottom it reads, “We Put Compton On The Map.”
Check out the photos below.
This is heaps weird, yeah?
so i guess after 24 years, they no longer “love him A LOT”. smh

Cool, Eazy E is buried in the same cemetery as my grandma. I visited a couple times and put some flowers down.
A 55 y/o gangster, pathetic
Yo mama and daddy pathetic for having YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The greatest ever.
This is worthy of a true legend, not fake like most of these rappers out today. Even back when E was rollin. He woulda looked out for a lot of peoples kids if they weren’t here today, like Dr. Dre. What hand did Tomika Woods have in this??? This is creative like nothing ever seen. Another reasons why the Wright Family should have a say so in Ruthless Records or anything else involving there father. She just cut them out of his legacy their born right. She was born in a orphanage so that’s a reason why she so cold hearted and don’t have a sense for family values. Respect what the man would have wanted for his kids since thats all he talked about. Shout goes out to Dj Yella for looking out. Still waiting on that album lol! E.B. Wright, can’t wait to see that documentary like it’s a new N.W.A album bout to drop. Lil’E doing his thang, can’t wait till you cross over into your major acting debut. Where is Cube when you need him lol!
In 95′ part of hip hop died with easy e
I recommend all you yungsters to listen to the it’s on 187um killa album front to back. Still better than 95% of the stuff that came out in the last 20 years
